Americano Padel Manager is a free padel app to create and manage your tournaments in Americano and Mexicano formats. In under 2 minutes, you set up a complete tournament: matches generated automatically, live standings updated in real time, results shared with a single tap. Available on iOS and Android.

Who is this app for?

Americano Padel Manager adapts to any context where you organize a padel tournament in a group, regardless of the size of the gathering.

Clubs and regular organizers find a professional tool for managing their weekly tournaments or inter-club events. Automatic player rotation, live standings, and results export fully replace Excel spreadsheets.

Friend groups use it for their recreational weekend sessions. No need to be an experienced organizer: the app guides you step by step, and the first tournament is up and running in minutes even for a beginner.

Companies and teams use it for team-building events and internal tournaments. The Americano format guarantees that everyone plays with everyone else, without fixed teams, which strengthens cohesion.

The app works from 4 players, with no upper limit. It handles both a small group of friends and a large club tournament equally well. Rated 4.9/5 by its users, it is already the go-to choice for clubs and players in more than 75 countries.

The problem with poorly organized tournaments

Organizing an Americano tournament by hand is more complicated than it looks. With 12 players on 2 courts, you need to spread matches across multiple rounds while ensuring everyone plays roughly the same number, nobody faces the same opponents repeatedly, and rounds don’t drag on unnecessarily.

Without a dedicated tool, the results are often disappointing. You end up with players playing 6 matches while others play only 4. Pairs that meet head-to-head three times in a row. Unnecessary rounds that extend the session without adding value.

Apps that generate tournaments randomly don’t avoid these problems. A random draw might seem “fair”, but it guarantees nothing: it can produce unbalanced schedules, with repeated opponents and players left out more often than others.

Padel tournaments optimized by artificial intelligence

Americano Padel Manager uses an optimization algorithm to generate mathematically balanced tournaments. This is not an improved random draw: it is an AI-based solver that analyzes all possible combinations and selects the best configuration.

In practice, this guarantees three things:

Equal playing time. Each player plays roughly the same number of matches throughout the tournament. The gap between the player who has played the most and the one who has played the least is kept to a maximum of 1 match in the vast majority of configurations.

Variety of opponents. The algorithm ensures you don’t face the same players twice if it can be avoided. Each round brings new opponents, making the tournament much more interesting and competitive.

Minimum number of rounds. For a given number of players and courts, the app calculates the exact number of rounds needed for everyone to play the maximum number of matches without repetition. In practice, this often means 5 to 10% fewer rounds compared to a classic approach, resulting in a tournament that finishes earlier without sacrificing fairness.

Schedule generation is instant when you create your tournament.

Creating a padel tournament in a few steps

Tournament creation is done in 5 steps guided by the app.

Choose the tournament format

The first step is to choose from the 6 available formats. The choice determines how matches will be generated and which players will play together.

Add players

You enter each player’s name. The app remembers players from your previous tournaments and suggests them to speed things up. For fixed-team formats, you create the pairs directly at this step. For Mixed formats, you specify each player’s gender (the app automatically ensures gender balance in matches).

Configure the settings

Three parameters to define before launching:

  • The tournament name (to find and share it easily)
  • The number of courts available
  • Points per match: 8, 11, 16, 21, 24, 32, or 40 points, or a custom value
  • Penalty for a missed match: the points awarded to a player when they don’t participate in a round (useful for balancing the standings when players don’t all play the same number of matches)

Once these parameters are confirmed, the app instantly generates the complete tournament schedule and shows you a summary before creating it definitively.

The 6 available tournament formats

Americano Padel Manager offers 3 Americano variants and 3 Mexicano variants, to suit all types of groups.

Americano: different partners each round

In Americano formats, pairs change every round. This is the ideal format for groups where everyone wants to play with everyone else.

  • Americano Classic: The 4 players per court change partners every round according to the optimization algorithm. Each player ends up as partner and opponent of all others over the course of the tournament.
  • Americano Mixed: Same principle, but each pair must consist of one man and one woman. The app handles gender balance automatically.
  • Americano Team: Teams are fixed (2 players per predefined team), but opponents change every round. Ideal when some players prefer to keep the same partner throughout the tournament.

Mexicano: matches based on live standings

In Mexicano formats, the current standings determine who plays against whom. The top-ranked players face each other, and so do the lower-ranked ones. The tournament becomes increasingly competitive as rounds progress.

  • Mexicano Classic: The 4 best in the standings play together (1st and 2nd vs 3rd and 4th), then the next 4, and so on.
  • Mexicano Mixed: Same logic with the gender balance constraint.
  • Mexicano Team: The team standings determine the matchups for the next round.

Simplicity and optimization, whatever the format

All these formats share the same promise: immediate ease of use and balanced tournaments. You choose the format, the app handles the rest. The optimization algorithm applies to each of them, whether it’s an Americano Classic among friends or a Mexicano Mixed at a club.

Entering scores and following the live standings

Once the tournament is launched, the app displays matches round by round, with players assigned to each court.

Completing scores match by match

For each match, a tap opens the score entry screen. You enter only one team’s points: the other score is calculated automatically (since the total of both teams is fixed). The match moves to “played” and the standings update.

You can correct a score at any time by tapping the match again. The app immediately recalculates the entire standings.

Automatic real-time standings

The standings are calculated continuously from the scores entered. The order is determined by the following criteria, in order of priority:

  1. Total points (the sum of all scores for each player)
  2. Number of wins in case of a tie
  3. Draws in case of a tie on wins
  4. Point differential (points scored minus points conceded)

The standings update instantly after each entry, visible to all participants if the tournament is shared.

Byes managed automatically

When the number of players doesn’t allow all courts to be filled (for example, 9 players on 2 courts), some players don’t play every round. This is called a “bye”. The app automatically designates who “rests” each round by alternating fairly, and awards the configured penalty points to maintain standings fairness.

Sharing the tournament with other players

Americano Padel Manager generates a unique web link for each tournament. Share this link via WhatsApp, SMS, or email: recipients can view the tournament in real time from their browser, without downloading the app.

This link is particularly useful for:

  • Displaying the standings on a large screen (club TV, tablet placed at the side of the court) during the tournament
  • Allowing spectators to follow along live without disturbing the organizer
  • Sending the final results to all participants once the tournament is over

Players who download the app can also find the tournament directly in their list, to keep it and consult their results later.

Distributing score entry among multiple organizers

When the tournament is large, entering scores on a single app can become a bottleneck. APM offers a collaborative management system that allows multiple people to edit the tournament simultaneously.

The process is simple:

  1. A player opens the shared tournament (via the web link or directly in the app)
  2. They send an edit access request to the main organizer
  3. The organizer receives a notification and accepts or declines the request
  4. Once accepted, the player can enter scores from their side in real time

In practice, each court manager can enter the scores for their court’s matches as soon as they finish. The organizer no longer has to run around. Everyone sees the standings update live.

Exporting tournament results to PDF and Excel

Once the tournament is over (or even while it’s in progress), you can export the results to archive, print, or share them as a document.

PDF export with preview

The PDF export generates a complete document with the standings and details of all matches by round. Before exporting, a preview lets you configure the output:

  • Include or exclude the standings
  • Enable colors to distinguish rounds
  • Compact mode to fit fewer pages

The PDF can be printed directly from the app or shared by email or messaging.

Excel export with dynamic formulas

The Excel export generates a structured XLSX file with several sections:

  • The standings: with SUMIF formulas that automatically recalculate if you modify scores
  • The list of courts for the tournament
  • The match schedule organized by round, with scores

The Excel file is particularly useful for clubs that want to archive their tournaments in a standard format or integrate results into their own tracking system.

Other useful features

Modification after creation. If you made a mistake in the settings, you can modify the tournament configuration after creating it: points per match, penalty for a missed match, and even the name.

Filters and sorting. Your tournament list can be filtered by status (in progress / finished), by type (created by you / joined via sharing), and sorted by creation date or last modification date.

Offline mode. The app works without an internet connection. You can enter all your scores on the court, then changes sync automatically when you get back online.

Frequently asked questions

How many players can Americano Padel Manager handle?

There is no strict limit. The app works from 4 players and can handle very large groups. In practice, tournaments typically have between 4 and 40 players, but nothing prevents going beyond that if the context requires it.

Does the app work without an internet connection?

Yes. Americano Padel Manager works entirely offline. You can create a tournament, enter scores, and check the standings without internet. Data syncs automatically as soon as the connection is restored, which allows sharing and collaborative editing to work.

What is the difference between Americano and Mexicano?

In Americano, partners and opponents are assigned (in an optimized way) each round. Everyone plays with everyone over the course of the tournament. In Mexicano, opponents are determined by the live standings: the best players face each other. Mexicano therefore becomes increasingly competitive with each round. To learn more, see our guide Americano or Mexicano: which format to choose?.

Can scores be modified after they have been entered?

Yes, at any time. Simply tap the match to reopen the entry screen and correct the scores. The standings recalculate immediately after each modification.
